Bonnie Nichols is a country/folk singer and songwriter from Soldotna, Alaska. She is published on two Grammy nominated children’s albums, “A Child’s Gift of Lullabyes,” and “Snuggle Up: A Gift of Songs for Sweet Dreams” with J. Aaron Brown of Nashville, TN. One of her many accomplishments, Bonnie is the recipient of a Wolf Trap Silver Medallion Award for the children’s project, “Hunk-Ta-Bunk-Ta-Bed,” written and recorded with Katherine Dines of Denver, Co. “Dino-Story,” a Bonnie Nichols original, was published in Sing 2006, a songbook and CD compilation for school children in Australia. Additionally, Bonnie has been recognized at both the state and national levels for her musical contributions related to healthcare. Drawing on experience in the professional and personal realms, much of Bonnie’s work is inspired by stories of hope and strength with her family and friends. “New Beginning,” off her latest release, I’ve Got Something To Say, was written to highlight Bonnie’s experience with organ/tissue donation. She has written several theme songs for public health campaigns, radio, and television programming. “She Don’t Hear the Thunder,” which portrays a woman’s struggle through a relationship riddled with domestic violence, won the first Alaska Public Radio “Song of the Year” contest in 1997. These achievements were the stepping stones leading up to Bonnie’s recognition by the State of Alaska with the “2005 First Lady’s Volunteer of the Year” award. Most recently, Bonnie has been writing the music for the Broadway-bound musical “Holy Fire.” When not performing or writing, Boninie works as the Director of Organizational Experience at Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna, Alaska. |
